Carbon Compliance OS

For batteries exported to the EU: connect footprint figures to regulations, data and evidence. The methods can transfer to building materials.

02Problem

EU importers carry market-placement obligations, while Chinese manufacturers hold bills of materials, energy and supplier data. Data preparation must start while rules continue to change.

03Approach

Manage regulatory status as data, distinguishing statutory dates, effective dates and dependencies. Freeze results as hashed snapshots and read declarations only from frozen runs. Replace methodology rules while retaining results from different versions. AI-assisted coding, independent review and human approval support implementation; the rule engine produces numerical results.

04Relationship to architecture

Carbon Compliance OS addresses batteries exported to the EU, not buildings. It belongs here because functional units, life-cycle stages, emission factors and evidence traceability also underpin material environmental product declarations and building embodied-carbon assessment.

05Scope and limitations

A concept prototype, unsuitable for official submissions. All company data and emission factors are synthetic examples. Its subject is battery products, not buildings. Transfer to materials and buildings requires separately defined boundaries, data and rules.
